FortisBC, Vancouver, Canada
FortisBC provides electricity, natural gas, piped propane and alternative energy solutions. The utility provides approximately 21 per cent of the total energy consumed in BC. FortisBC employs more than 2,000 people and serves more than 1.1 million customers in 135 communities. GTA and FortisBC organized and hosted a free, informative workshop on biomethane opportunities in B.C. The workshop integrated local and international technology provider in biogas-upgrading/cleaning. The workshop attracted the attention of 90 guests.

Maple Reinders, Kelowna, Canada
The Maple Reinders Group is a trusted leader in construction and engineering, Maple Reinders creates full-service turnkey solutions from ‘green’ projects to designing, building and operating leading-edge environmental facilities. Maple Reinders was founded in 1967 and completed hundreds of projects since. GTA is supporting the Maple Reinders Group as a supplier of innovative biogas storage technology and components (double membrane gasholder) and required for the development of biogas plants in Canada.

Sun Current Group.
Nanaimo, Canada
Suncurrent Group is using methane gas for electricity generation. The company built a demonstration project in BC to showcase and test various distributed technologies that support gas utilization from landfills. GTA is working with Suncurrent to evaluate and source latest stage biogas technologies into BC and improve plant efficiencies.
HTC technology Green Tech Avenue is working on a feasibility study of Hydro Thermal Carbonisation (HTC). The technology uses biomass waste streams and converts them into bio coal and a nutrient rich solution. The feasibility study shall be the base for building the first HTC plant in the North American market. GTA is working with different feedstock suppliers to test different waste streams.

Nations Energy Corp.

Nations Energy Corporation  is a Bio Energy Company with an initial focus on management of  forestry assets and  manufacturing and delivery of energy products in the form of bio coal for large European and Asian Markets GTA provided access to off-take partners in Europe eg. European utlitity companies and ultimate buyers for their premium pellets and upcoming bio coal segment. GTA also connected the start up with leading European bio energy technology providers. Finally, GTA provided intelligence in market analysis, funding and technology applications.

National Research Council Institute For Fuel Cell Innovation, Vancouver, Canada

The National Research Council in Vancouver supports research and development of innovative clean energy technologies. Its research focuses on Fuel Cell, Smart Grid, Clean Transportation, Bio Energy and Remote Communities GTA worked on a 4 month study of BC.s Clean Energy Technology in 2009 and continued in 2010. The report can be found here. GTA also provided organisational support for the BC Smart-Grid Workshop at Tech Connect in Anaheim, CA, USA in 2010. Furthermore, GTA also developed a concept for a future Clean Energy Technology Center in BC.

Sweet Waste Solutions
Frankfurt, Germany
Sweet Waste Solutions is a spin-off from the Goethe-Universitaet Frankfurt am Main (microbiology science) in Germany. Sweet Waste Solutions developed a bio process to produce biogas and bio ethanol from biological waste. GTA developed the business model and calculated the anticipated needs and financial resources. GTA searched for funding of the seed capital and provided application for other funding sources.

Biocons, S.A.
Spain.

BIOCONS S.A. is a specialist for water preparation and for the treatment of effluent, exhaust gases and sludge. Its new product LEVAPOR has shown its multitude of advantages compared to conventional procedures. GTA established professional business plan accounts and a business plan. GTA helped with the determination of funding requirements and the structuring and optimization of the project financing. Lastly, GTA was attracting capital for the financing.

Biodiesel Systems
USA, Wisconsin

Biodiesel Systems is one of the pioneers in the U.S. biodiesel market. The company designed three biodiesel plants along the Mississippi River. GTA provided structuring and optimization of the project financing as part of a project. Further GTA was responsible for the Due Diligence process and the Investor Search. On behalf of Biodiesel Systems, GTA was conducting negotiations with investors and banks.
Second-generation biofuels, Germany The advised firm operates in the market for second-generation biofuels. In particular, second-generation biofuels do not compete with food production, since they use different resources. The company produces ethanol and biogas from organic waste. GTA establish professional design documents and determined the project funding requirements. GTA also helped structuring and optimizing the project finance.

Smart Hydro Power, Feldafing, Germany
Smart Hydro Power is a German based engineering company. The company is focused on developing and implementing hydro electric power generation using kinetic power only – ie; without the need for building dams. GTA organized a four day roadshow for Smart Hydro Power in British Columbia.
